    School Profile

We are a "family-sized", inclusive school where staff and students all know each other and parents feel welcomed and involved. Children are expected to put forth their best efforts, and do so in a safe, caring, peaceful environment. The school is organized to meet the needs of kindergarten through grade six, regular and special needs students. Programming for special needs students occurs within inclusive settings and a district site program.

Grovenor emphasizes academics and provides exceptional music instruction integrated throughout the curriculum. Daily physical education programming is a tradition at Grovenor, with programming being implemtented long before it became a requirement! Students in Grades 4 - 6 receive formal instruction in Spanish as a second language.

At Grovenor School, we believe children learn at different rates and times and in unique ways. Students are intentionally challenged at their personal academic level and receive opportunities to experience success in a supportive environment that encourages learning. Expert staff empower students to become engaged learners and problem solvers.

Together we DO make a difference - Volunteering and parental support are valued aspects of our school community. In partnership we work to support Grovenor students as they engage in their learning and begin understanding their individual potential. Our whole child focus provides direction for programming and support for students as they grow to become active, peaceful citizens and life long learners.

Join us as we watch students succeed!

Kindergarten Open House

If you have a child(ren) who turn 5 before or on December 31, 2021, they may be eligible for Kindergarten! Please share this with any of your friends or neighbours who are also looking for Kindergarten in September!

Grovenor School is now accepting registrations! In order to ensure that everyone is safe and that we are limiting contact wherever possible, there is a centralized online process which can be found at https://www.epsb.ca/schools/register/kindergartenregistration/

Grovenor School is full in planned classes in Kindergarten and Grade 3 in the Regular Program. Kindergarten students who are resident and live in the attendance area may still register. We will only accept resident students who move into the school’s attendance area for Grade 3. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.

If you are registering for Kindergarten or if you are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online.

Principal’s Message

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year at Grovenor School!

My name is Ms. Charlene Roberge (sounds like ‘Ro-bear-ge’).  We are so happy to be welcoming you back to in-person learning.  Families who have chosen on-line learning for the first quarter will continue to be on our minds as we plan and prepare for each quarter.  Building and maintaining relationships and connections with ALL of our students is a priority.  Families can expect to receive regular communication from the school.

We appreciate all of your help, support and patience as we start the year under our School Re-Entry Strategy protocols.  Working as a “T.E.A.M.=Together, Everyone Achieves More” will be our motto as we focus on collective safety, health and well-being, and getting back to learning.

Joining our amazing team this year are Ron Ramos who is our new Head Custodian, and Jenny Wondga, our Spanish Teacher.  A special welcome to them!

We look forward to a safe and productive year together!

Yours in partnership,

Charlene Roberge
